POSITION PURPOSE The Project Accountant’s primary responsibility is to monitor job profitability for their Division. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (Including But Not Limited To) Set up and maintain budgets/contractsReporting of all pending and approved change orders throughout the jobProcess quantity updates & Back chargesSubcontracts compliance, processing and billingLong form P.O’s on tracking actual and committed costsCommitted Cost Reconciliation/AccrualsMonth-End ReportingMaintain an accurate contract and billing based on correspondence from the ownerAttend pre-construction meetings (on larger projects)Time and Material billingsResponsible for analyzing, updating and providing accurate cost reportsAssistance in collections efforts to minimize past due AR balancesOther duties as assigned Specific Job Knowledge, Skill, and Ability The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential functions of the job. Minimum of 2 years of experience of Cost Accounting in the Construction IndustryExperience in cost analysis is requiredExperience with an integrated construction accounting and project management software preferredHave basic knowledge with basic accounting principles (i.e. journal entries, debits, credits, etc.)and accounting functions.
