Project Accountant

About the role

The Project Accountant is responsible for completing pay applications and assisting with billing. This person will work in direct support of the Accounting Manager.

Essential Functions

• Assist with billing, specifically in regard to Locklear/Rogers projects
• Reconcile jobs
• Change order research and help get change orders for all salesmen
• Proper project close out
• Comsense reports, cleaning up WIP and sales orders
• Research back charges, missing material, change orders, etc.
• Other relative duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

• Associates' degree, or an equivalent combination of education/experience
• Experience in both construction and accounting related positions preferred
• Must pass pre-employment background check and drug test

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Strong mathematical and analytical skills required
• Strong working knowledge of all Microsoft Office products specifically Excel
• Strong written and verbal communication skills are also critical

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk, hear and see. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hand to handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.

Work Environment

This job operates primarily in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. May occasionally require business travel.
