Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Create or approve all project-related billings to customers.
• Input customer billings in Intacct and Ariba
• Create project accounts in the accounting system
• Maintain project-related records, including contracts and change orders
• Cook up with Project Team to reflect changes in project scope or timeline
• Complete all postings, allocations, and accruals for projects
• Cook up with receivables staff regarding unpaid contract billings
• Report on project profitability to management
• Report to management regarding the remaining funding available for projects
• Investigate all project expenses not billed to customers
• Respond to requests for more detail from customers
• Close out project accounts upon project completion

Experience and Requirements

• Education and Experience: Associate or Bachelor’s degree in accounting or similar business degree; or equivalent experience
• Minimum 5 years prior experience working as an accountant or bookkeeper
• Proficient in data entry, accounts payable, accounts receivable and vendor payments
• Strong communication skills
• Key competencies are communication, teamwork, initiative, and dependability
• Construction accounting experience a plus
• Knowledge of progress billings/AIA billings a plus
