Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Create or approve all project-related billings to customers.
- Input customer billings in Intacct and Ariba
- Create project accounts in the accounting system
- Maintain project-related records, including contracts and change orders
- Cook up with Project Team to reflect changes in project scope or timeline
- Complete all postings, allocations, and accruals for projects
- Cook up with receivables staff regarding unpaid contract billings
- Report on project profitability to management
- Report to management regarding the remaining funding available for projects
- Investigate all project expenses not billed to customers
- Respond to requests for more detail from customers
- Close out project accounts upon project completion
Experience and Requirements
- Education and Experience: Associate or Bachelor’s degree in accounting or similar business degree; or equivalent experience
- Minimum 5 years prior experience working as an accountant or bookkeeper
- Proficient in data entry, accounts payable, accounts receivable and vendor payments
- Strong communication skills
- Key competencies are communication, teamwork, initiative, and dependability
- Construction accounting experience a plus
- Knowledge of progress billings/AIA billings a plus
