About the role
The Progressive Care Nurse provides direct patient care within the scope of nursing practice, utilizing therapeutic communication and maintaining a safe environment.
Responsibilities
- Assessing patient needs
- Implementing physician orders
- Administering medications
- Monitoring vital signs
- Providing wound care
- Delivering patient education as part of a multidisciplinary team
- When acting as charge nurse: overseeing staff assignments, ensuring quality care, and responding to patient, staff, and physician needs
- Participating in performance improvement activities to support hospital goals
Requirements
- Registered Nurse license from an accredited school
- Current licensure with the relevant state board
- BLS certification
- ACLS certification within 6 months of hire
- Preferred minimum one year of clinical experience
