Position: Programs & Outreach Coordinator Location: Montgomery County, Maryland, In Person and Hybrid Employment Type: Part Time Schedule: Regular hybrid schedule of approximately 20 hours per week, including in person programs, meetings, and outreach events Compensation: $25.00 per hour Reports To: Director of Programs & Marketing Director About Live In Your Truth and The Montgomery County Pride Family Live In Your Truth is a program within the Montgomery County Pride Family, operating under MoCo Pride Center, Inc. Live In Your Truth creates affirming and inclusive spaces through linkage to care programs, community events, representational local media, and employment and contract opportunities for LGBTQIA+ and intersectional BIPOC underserved communities throughout Montgomery County, Maryland, and the greater DMV region. Everyone is welcome. The Montgomery County Pride Family is a collaborative consortium of LGBTQIA+ service, advocacy, and arts and culture organizations serving Montgomery County. Programs and initiatives include Live In Your Truth, Trans Maryland, MoCo Pride Prom, The Coalition for Inclusive Schools and Communities, Drag Story Hour DMV, Maryland Trans Unity, and Montgomery County Pride In The Plaza. Our programs partner with government agencies, nonprofit organizations, and community focused businesses to address opioid overdose prevention, combat hate and bias in schools and communities, provide culturally competent training, deliver HIV and STI education and prevention resources, support name and gender marker changes, host trans and nonbinary support groups, coordinate expungement clinics, connect returning citizens to resources, address food and housing insecurity, provide inclusive multilingual family literacy programming, uplift affirming faith and spiritual resources, produce local representational media, and create pathways to jobs and contract opportunities. Job Overview The Programs and Outreach Coordinator is a highly visible, community facing role responsible for supporting and delivering successful programs, outreach initiatives, and dynamic marketing efforts. This position plays a key role in strengthening community engagement, expanding program visibility, and supporting operational excellence. The ideal candidate is organized, culturally competent, creative, and passionate about community centered work, with experience in social media marketing and outreach. Key Responsibilities Coordinate and support internal programs and community outreach events from planning through execution Assist with post program reconciliation, documentation, and reporting Under the direction of the Programs and Marketing Manager, support marketing initiatives including social media planning, content creation, scheduling, and engagement Help manage organizational social media platforms by promoting programs, events, and community resources through posts, stories, reels, and other digital content Assist with basic content development such as captions, graphics coordination, event promotion timelines, and community engagement tracking Support equipment and materials management for programs, events, and outreach activities Coordinate and support organizational meetings, including scheduling, agendas, and logistics Facilitate and support virtual meetings and digital programming platforms Recruit, onboard, and help manage volunteers for programs and outreach events Support front facing operations, including participant engagement, guest relations, and community partner interactions Distribute educational and wellness resources at outreach events and programs Qualifications Experience in program coordination, event planning, or community outreach Demonstrated experience supporting or managing social media platforms for organizations, campaigns, or community initiatives Familiarity with social media tools and platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, or similar Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to write engaging and inclusive content Ability to manage multiple tasks, deadlines, and priorities in a fast paced environment Strong interpersonal skills and comfort engaging with diverse communities Commitment to equity, inclusion, and serving LGBTQIA+ and intersectional BIPOC communities Additional Compensation Opportunities Commercial Driver’s License incentive available for employees with a valid CDL, reflecting the added value of transportation support for programs and events Language skills incentive available for bilingual or multilingual employees to support outreach and accessibility for our diverse community Requirements A computer, mobile phone, and reliable internet access during work hours are required for this position How to Apply Please submit a resume and a cover letter outlining your interest and relevant experience to employment@mocopridecenter.org Equal Opportunity Employer Statement Live In Your Truth, The Montgomery County Pride Family, and MoCo Pride Center, Inc. are proud to be equal opportunity employers.
