Programming Assistant (Activities)
About the role
This role involves assisting the Program Director in creating, scheduling, and implementing programs for Brookmeadow at Cobb Corner’s senior residents. The position requires a patient, innovative individual with creativity, friendliness, compassion, and organization skills.
Responsibilities
- Form meaningful relationships with residents and families
- Help implement and coordinate the balanced daily programming schedule for 7 days per week
- Support with coordination of entertainment including guest lecturers, musicians, and fitness instructors
- Participate in scheduled outings, ensuring safety of residents on transportation and off-site
- Support with developing monthly newsletter, taking photos, and updating social media
Requirements
- Experience: Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Therapeutic Recreation, Education, Social Work, or related field preferred. Must have 1+ years experience working with elderly and/or Alzheimer's populations.
- Physical requirements: Standing, sitting, bending, and transferring residents (with and without assistance)
- Communication: An ability to communicate effectively with residents and co-workers
- Punctuality & reliability – Our residents rely on us to assist them with their daily living activities and we expect our associates to deliver on this promise.
