Programmer Analyst

The Programmer Analyst is an entry to associate level position within the Information Technology Department, supporting the design, development, and maintenance of business applications and systems integrations utilizing modern software frameworks and development platforms, relational database technologies, and web development technologies. The Programmer Analyst works under guidance of Lead Software Architect and Software Development Manager to build technical skills, contribute to team projects, and support business needs. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing high-quality applications. They will also be responsible for designing and implementing testable and scalable code. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:Troubleshooting and bug-fixes on existing apps, including legacy codeImprovements and refactoring of outdated legacy codeAssist and act as backup to Senior Architect in development and support of external websitesProgramming new custom applications and developing new features as neededAct as backup for Content Management System updates QualificationsThree years of related experience. A A postsecondary degree may be used as an alternative for years of direct experience. Preferences: A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in computer science, computer engineering, management information systems, mathematics, or a related fieldExperience with programming languages (e.g., C#, VB.Net, Python, JavaScript / TypeScript)Experience with Azure App DevelopmentExperience with Microsoft SQL ServerExperience with Oracle DatabaseExperience with Power BI and/or other reporting softwareExperience with Microsoft Azure DevOpsExperience with API calls from application codeExperience with JavaScript and JavaScript librariesExperience with HTML, JSON, XML, and CSS FrameworksWorking knowledge of web content management systems (WCMS) and other web related technologies Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Thorough knowledge of application design, programming, integration and web related technologiesKnowledge of application development standards, techniques, technologies and toolsKnowledge of relational database design, programming and reporting concepts and toolsKnowledge of system integration techniques and technologiesSkill in complex problem solving related to software and system issuesSkill in critical thinking, logic and reasoningAbility to work in a team environment with technical and non-technical peers on assigned projectsAbility to effectively manage time and work independentlyAbility to express ideas clearly in written and verbal communicationsAbility to follow established software development processes and procedures (e.g., Systems Development Life Cycle process, unit and integration testing, customer issue resolution, change management, etc.)
