About the role
The Program Therapist performs social services functions to assist male patients in meeting their bio-psychosocial needs, enabling them to access treatment skills for optimal emotional health. Responsibilities include providing consultation, teaching, specialized clinical social work services, crisis intervention, short-term and long-term family therapy, and information/referrals.
Responsibilities
- Formulate and conduct educational, therapeutic, and/or support groups.
- Continue professional development in individual, family, and group therapy; maintain records in personnel files.
- Conduct individual, couples, and family counseling on scheduled timetables.
- Comply with medical/legal reporting standards (e.g., child abuse, dependent adult abuse, psychiatric commitment).
- Represent the facility at legal hearings, submit paperwork for legal holds, and liaise with the conservator’s office as requested.
- Assess and identify psychosocial, educational, developmental, and behavioral functioning of patients/families through case-finding mechanisms.
- Demonstrate knowledge of bio-psychosocial factors and DSM-IV related to patient ages and incorporate findings into treatment plans.
- Assign and direct personnel to implement nursing care plans; verify care through direct observation and chart review.
Requirements
- Master's Degree from an accredited college or university in Social Work or a clinical-related mental health field (MSW, APC, LPC, LCSW preferred).
- At least two (2) years of experience in a psychiatric healthcare facility, with direct experience in family/group therapies, crisis intervention, treatment skills, and clinical assessment.

Pay
Expected compensation range: $28.00 per hour (non-licensed) or $30.00 per hour (licensed). Consideration will be given based on experience and skill level.
This is a PRN (as-needed) position.
