About the role
As a Program Therapist at Smokey Point Behavioral Hospital, you will play a vital role in our mission to address the bio-psychosocial needs of our patients. This position involves performing social services functions and guiding patients in accessing therapeutic treatment skills to achieve optimal emotional health. You will offer basic consultation, deliver specialized clinical social work services, crisis intervention, and conduct short-term and long-term family therapy. Your work will contribute to the overall well-being of our patients and their families.
Responsibilities
- Conduct individual, couples, and family counseling with a focus on engagement, collaboration, and problem-solving.
- Collaborate with community agencies for patient assessment and services.
- Evaluate and document the effectiveness of interventions and patient responses.
- Assess the psychosocial, educational, and behavioral functioning of patients and document updates.
- Utilize age-specific considerations in treatment planning.
- Respond promptly to social work service requests.
- Contribute to the effective functioning of the patient's program and meet social work needs.
- Participate in interdisciplinary treatment planning meetings.
- Ensure specific, measurable goals and interventions are defined.
- Adhere to specific standards for the care of diverse patient populations.
- Utilize appropriate interventions in psychiatric emergencies.
Requirements
- Master’s Degree from an accredited college or university in Social Work or a clinically related mental health field.
- Valid Washington state license in Social Work or a clinical-related mental health field.
- At least two (2) years of experience in a psychiatric health care facility, with direct experience in family and group therapies, crisis intervention, and treatment skills.
- Strong clinical assessment skills preferred.
- Flexibility in working hours to meet program needs.
- If eligible, candidates are encouraged to obtain acknowledgments from the Department of Behavioral Health and Recovery (DBHR), such as Mental Health Provider and Children’s Mental Health Specialist.

Pay
This is a full-time position with an expected compensation range of $83,200.00 to $102,000.00 annually. Consideration will be provided based on experience and skill level.
