About the role

The Contractor Assistant Program Manager (Program Support Lead) will support Team Submarine and the NAVSEA 05Z Program Office. The team is responsible for the design and development of the COLUMBIA class Integrated Power System and the design of a new turbine generator for generating all electrical power. The team works closely with the shipbuilder to manage, direct, and coordinate all resources required for the design, construction, and Test and Evaluation (T&E) of the future submarine’s power system.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Program Manager in the day-to-day operations within the program
  • Develop and maintain job descriptions
  • Review and interview resumes
  • Onboard new employees
  • Compile, edit, and submit weekly, monthly, and annual reports
  • Manage timecards
  • Handle financial management tasks
  • Support employee recognition efforts
  • Provide support to government and contractor support personnel as needed
  • Work independently and within large teams
  • Multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Develop junior personnel
  • Research, analyze, and provide recommendations on various topics
  • Train government and contractor support personnel on submarine operation, construction, risk management, and certifications

Qualifications

  • A current/active DoD Secret security clearance
  • U.S. Citizenship required
  • A Bachelor’s degree and minimum 5 years of related experience
  • An advanced MS Office skillset to include Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and Teams
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Accept emergent tasking with little to no supervision and/or direction
  • Able to work both independently and within large team environments
  • Discretion in performing specified work requirements
  • Outstanding written and oral communication skills
  • Attention to detail and the ability to meet tight deadlines
  • Ability to travel up to 10%
