About the role
The Program Support Assistant (OA) is responsible for preparing, assembling, and correlating information for surveys and reports. They process incoming and outgoing materials, review and analyze these materials, and refer them to the appropriate sections. Additionally, they liaise with customers regarding equipment purchases and maintain confidential records.
Responsibilities
- Prepares, assembles, and correlates information for surveys and reports.
- Processes incoming and outgoing materials, including correspondence, reports, memoranda, and other forms of written communications.
- Reviews and analyzes materials, determines necessary actions, researches background information, and refers materials to the appropriate sections.
- Edits documents, composes letters and reports, reviews correspondence for accuracy and completeness, and develops standard form letters and replies to inquiries.
- Liaises with customers regarding equipment purchases, leases, trade-ins, excess, moves, warranty periods, and other requirements.
- Maintains the official station control log and assigns numbers and dates to memoranda and retention/foldering.
- Reviews and makes changes/corrections to RO's controlled publications to ensure proper format, updates and revises publications, and prepares "Justification for Proposed Field Station Issue" for concurrence.
- Maintains confidential records for SSD, including performance, disciplinary actions, and awards.
- Serves as a purchase card holder, secures purchase cards, identifies correct BOCs, and reconciles statements.
- Serves as the principal timekeeper for SSD and supports other division timekeeper needs.
- Serves as one of the facility's PIV Card issuers and receives all SSD visitors and callers.
- Screens telephone calls for the SSD Chief and forwards only those requiring Division Chiefs attention.
Requirements
Specialized experience includes composing, reviewing, and editing correspondence, auditing statistical data, assessing organizational workflow, providing budgetary recommendations, and serving as the principal timekeeper. Volunteer experience is also considered.
Qualifications
- GS-06: At least 52 weeks at the GS-05 grade level.
