Position Summary
Aid the Program Director in managing all aspects of the program operations. Step in as the Program Director when they are absent.
About the Role
Oversee day-to-day program operations, provide supervision and support to staff, and ensure services are person-centered, age-appropriate, and community-focused.
Essential Job Duties
- Provide on-the-job supervision and support to staff, including recognition, guidance, and feedback.
- Ensure staff provide services that are person-centered, age-appropriate, and community-focused.
- Engage individuals receiving services in the daily planning and delivery of services.
- Develop and implement daily schedules for staff and persons served, including center-based, community-based, and mobile work crew activities.
- Assign individuals to activities and program areas based on their program goals and needs.
- Oversee individualized program planning for persons served at the center.
- Attend support team meetings for persons served and advise Service Coordinators on the planning process.
- Identify and secure referral or additional services for persons served when needed.
- Advise the Program Director on staff training needs and provide training to ensure all staff are properly skilled and equipped.
- Evaluate staff performance, including goal setting and performance reviews, and address performance issues when necessary.
- Maintain a professional and positive environment and serve as a role model for staff and program participants.
- Oversee medication administration and ensure staff adhere to procedures.
- Ensure the safety and health of staff and persons served by identifying and correcting hazards and enforcing safety policies.
- Communicate promptly to the Program Director about health and safety issues.
- Afford support to the Program Director in identifying and implementing procedural enhancements and quality improvement measures.
- Identify and promote best practices in service delivery and performance improvement.
- Attend and participate in staff meetings and training as requested.
- Serve and participate on committees as requested.
- Plan and direct volunteer work as assigned.
Requirements
- A minimum of 2+ years of supervision or demonstrated leadership role in a human service field related to adult disability services.
- A four-year degree in a related field or a two-year college degree with two years of work experience with persons with disabilities.
- Qualified for employment in a day training and habilitation program as determined by the MN Department of Human Services.
- Pass background checks as required by law or MSS.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to work independently and cooperatively with coworkers and supervisors.
- Strong customer relations skills and ability to relate well with people with disabilities.
- Basic computer skills, including Windows, word processing, and basic spreadsheets.
- A valid driver's license and insurability as determined by the insurance carrier.
Qualifications
