Program Specialist - Vocational Services

About the role

The Program Specialist oversees the Vocational Work Services program to assist individuals with significant disabilities in developing and improving their vocational skills for employment through productive work. This position collaborates closely with Idaho's Medicaid Home and Community-Based Services (HCBS) waiver programs and the Idaho Division of Vocational Rehabilitation.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates and implements activities for participating individuals of the workshop, matching skills with available production work.
• Supervises shop staff and coordinates the implementation of services to achieve the best vocational outcomes for participants.
• Reviews program caseload to prioritize workload, assigns individuals to specific tasks, and demonstrates job duties to ensure understanding.
• Observes workers performing tasks to ensure they understand job responsibilities and oversees time studies to monitor and track participant progress and outcomes.
• Completes annual review meetings with State Program Monitors to update and review participant goals and progress.
• Maintains a safe and effective shop environment for participants and staff, adhering to policies and procedures, CARF standards, State, and Federal regulations (OSHA).

Qualifications

• Familiarity with vocational workshops, supported employment, and integrated employment practices is preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Managerial experience required.
• Bachelor's degree in related field required.
• 3-5 years supervisory/managerial experience in Community Service & Case Management.
• Intermediate computer skills preferred.
