Program Specialist

About the role
Join the North Dakota Department of Career and Technical Education in their mission to provide all North Dakota citizens with the technical skills, knowledge, and attitudes necessary for successful performance in globally competitive workplaces. As a Program Specialist, you will provide organizational support and event planning for our agency and program areas along with North Dakota Student Organizations: DECA, FBLA, FCCLA, FFA, SkillsUSA, and TSA.
This position is based on-site in our Bismarck office and requires occasional travel within the state, along with working some evenings and weekends depending on business needs.
Responsibilities
- Assist in planning and preparation for various conferences, organizational events, and workshops
- Proofread and edit documents
- Aid with maintaining websites and communication
- Prepare training and meeting materials
- Assist with mail duties and answering calls and emails
- Aid with greeting visitors and maintaining workplace coverage
Requirements
- High School Diploma/GED and three years of work experience performing a variety of complex office support, or Associate Degree in a business-related field and two years of work experience
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn new software programs
- Preference given to applicants with design tool experience such as Canva and Adobe
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision as well as collaboratively within a team environment
- Strong communication skills, ability to multitask, and be organized, reliable, and professional in a changing work environment
- Legally authorized to work in the United States (no sponsorship provided)
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel within North Dakota
- Ability to lift and carry up to 40 pounds unassisted
