About the role

Creative Employment Services Inc. is a Supportive Employment Community-Based Integration Training Program for individuals with developmental disabilities ages 18 years and older. Our area of focus commits to training and hiring individuals with developmental disabilities utilizing a person-centered approach that caters to each individual's unique needs. We believe through empowerment and inclusion we can help to enhance the quality of life of the individuals we serve, by providing integrated and supportive employment within the community.

Responsibilities

  • Aid consumers with post-secondary educational goals and training.
  • Tutor and provide classroom support as needed.
  • Maintain and update consumer school portals/systems.
  • Provide 1:1 support to consumers in classes and on campuses.
  • Transport consumers to and from school as needed.
  • Support consumers in career planning and job readiness.
  • Coach consumers during on-the-job training.
  • Coordinate additional family support services and resources.
  • Oversee and administer day-to-day operations of various programs.
  • Serve as a liaison with internal and external constituencies.
  • Create and implement strategies for funding and resource opportunities.
  • Develop, implement, and lead strategies for program planning.
  • Address and resolve consumer complaints.
  • Edit and approve Special Incident Reports (SIR).
  • Assist with onboarding and job development for consumers and new staff.
  • Proofread and correct internal documents, marketing materials, presentations, and reports.
  • Maintain compliance with logs, documents, and company records.
  • Create marketing communications, social media posts, and newsletters as needed.

Requirements

  • Prior to hiring, the leadership team and human resources will conduct the employment interview with the prospective candidate.
  • The candidate must complete the following procedures before starting work: application, health screening, fingerprint clearance, signed criminal record statement, signed dependent adult abuse reporting requirement, reference and experience verification by HR.
  • Must have a valid AA degree and/or equivalent experience.
  • Must have a clean DMV record and proof of full coverage auto insurance.
  • Must have CPR certification.
  • Bilingual is preferred.

Qualifications

  • Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines with strong organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Attention to detail and minimal data entry errors.
  • Must be 18 years of age.
  • Health Screening Clearance with TB clearance results.
  • Fingerprint Clearance prior to hire.
  • References and experience verified by HR.
  • Bilingual is a plus.

$20.00 - $27.50 per hour

Staff Experience

Creative Employment Services executive team and management staff have over 15 years of experience supporting and providing an array of social and developmental services to intellectually disabled adults. We are experienced in assisting individuals with developmental disabilities with obtaining and maintaining employment opportunities, securing housing, and developing independent living skills. Our dedicated team will assist with providing a pathway to competitive integrated employment with community involvement. Creative Employment Services has working knowledge of Title 17, 22, Consumer’s Rights, and certification in First-Aid, CPI, DSP I, and DSP II.

Creative Employment Services, Inc.'s purpose is to support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities through individualized services so that they are able to secure meaningful employment, gain independence, and establish the quality of life that they desire. Our main objective is to provide consumers with the opportunity to be involved with businesses and employers that promote a supportive employment environment within their community. The services we provide equip consumers with the essential job skills needed to become employable and successful individuals.

As an employee, you will work one-on-one or in a small group setting. In addition to working on skills, employees must be able to perform specific job duties and tasks.
