Program Specialist
About the role
The Community Development Department, Code Compliance Division, is seeking a knowledgeable and highly motivated Program Specialist to implement and manage the City’s Tenant Protection Program, established by City Council in 2019. The Tenant Protection Program aims to protect renters from excessive rent increases and unjust evictions.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate and enhance administrative policies and procedures for the Tenant Protection, and Rental Housing Programs
- Supervise personnel who support the Rental Registry, Rental Housing Inspection Program, and program hearings
- Develop and manage the Tenant Protection Rental Registry database
- Collaborate with internal and external departments regarding program coordination
- Facilitate outreach meetings with landlord/tenant stakeholders
- Track and analyze legislation related to landlord/tenant issues and prepare statistics, reports, and data regarding findings
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess exceptional analytical and interpersonal skills and have a strong background in program development and administration. An understanding of housing policy, rental property standards, and tenant and landlord law is preferred.

Knowledge of principles and practices of public administration and governmental finance, budgeting, and accounting. Procurement methods. Research techniques, methods and procedures.
