Program Security Officer

About the role

The Program Security Officer (PSO) will provide security support for a dynamic, fast-paced USG organization. The PSO must possess and have successfully demonstrated technical security competence, problem-solving skills, and the interpersonal skills necessary to determine and implement effective security policy for the protection of classified efforts.

Responsibilities

• Create and implement comprehensive security plans, as well as put in place measures to mitigate risks and protect sensitive information and assets.
• Conduct security assessments at potential domestic and international work locations.
• Support the establishment and ongoing management of operational security requirements as business needs dictate, with a minimum of 50% travel.
• Train new security staff on security protocols and procedures when not working abroad.
• Plan, coordinate, and manage security support for classified activities with a thorough understanding of ICD 705, NISPOM, and Department of State and Department of Defense force protection standards.
• Aid in the development, review, coordination, and execution of critical program security documentation.
• Monitor, report, and track corrective actions resulting from compliance reviews.
• Ensure timely notification of pertinent security matters to program technical and management staff.

Requirements

Experience working in international or remote field locations is necessary. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are required to work effectively with a range of stakeholders, including government officials and contract personnel, to implement security policies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and at least 8 to 12 years of related experience is required. Additional years of experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
• Must possess current/active Top Secret/SCI clearance with Polygraph.

Skills

Knowledge of the various security disciplines such as physical security, personnel security, information system security, and industrial security is essential.
