Program Research Specialist III
Responsibilities
- Identify, obtain and analyze various data sources to generate results for appropriate indicators to support asthma surveillance activities.
- Monitor and implement performance measurement systems, including federal performance measures, and perform data management and analysis activities to assess progress toward the state Strategic Plan for Asthma Control and Prevention Agenda goals.
- Contribute to the NYSACP evaluation activities across multiple initiatives/settings, including data management activities, analysis and reporting.
- Perform data preparation and analysis to contribute to the asthma dashboard, data-to-action reports, data briefs, and publications.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in public health, epidemiology, health informatics, biostatistics or related field and three years of research experience in the collection and analysis of data.
- OR an Associate’s degree in a related field and five years of such experience.
- OR seven years of such experience.
- A Master’s degree in a related field may substitute for one year of such experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Health or related field and two years of experience in public health research, surveillance or evaluation.
- A doctorate in a related field.
- Proficiency in data analysis, database and statistical software, interpretation, and dissemination of data for varied audiences.
- Experience analyzing large public health data (BRFSS, emergency department, hospital discharge, and vital statistic data).
- Background and experience with analyzing large public health data.
- Intermediate or advanced proficiency using SAS including proficient use of SAS BASE, SQL, GRAPH, STAT, ODS, MACRO.
- Experience with HTML and Tableau software development.

$90,320.00 annually

Grant funded position. Compliance with funding requirements such as time and effort reporting, grant deliverables, and contract deliverables, is required.
Valid and unrestricted authorization to work in the U.S. is required.

The selected candidate must reside within a reasonable commuting distance of the official work location specified in the job posting and must also be located in or willing to relocate to one of the following states: New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Vermont, or Massachusetts, prior to hire.

Work Location Expectations
At HRI, the nature of hybrid and onsite work varies by position. Some roles require full onsite presence, while others allow a hybrid schedule. Managers determine the specific telecommuting expectations for each role based on operational needs and job responsibilities.
