Position Summary

The Program Recruiter and Outreach Specialist will play a vital role in supporting prospective and current students by guiding them through the admissions and enrollment process, including registration and program requirements, while advancing outreach efforts that increase the visibility, engagement, and growth of the Building Puentes program. This position requires strong interpersonal skills, organizational abilities, and a commitment to helping students succeed. The ideal candidate will provide personalized support to students through in-person meetings, phone calls, email, and virtual platforms such as Zoom. Responsibilities include assisting with planning and delivering informational sessions and representing the program at community events, career fairs, and other recruitment opportunities. Respond to student inquiries in a timely, professional, and supportive manner. Identify and resolve students’ concerns by connecting them with appropriate student resources and services at WSU.

Required Qualifications

  • Bilingual English/Spanish
  • Willingness to work with adult learners, first-generation college students, and diverse populations
  • Willingness to take initiative and problem-solve individual student cases so that students have the best experience possible
  • Willingness to work occasional evenings and weekends; flexible schedule as needed to support program events and outreach activities
  • Experience in customer service, outreach, or a related field
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment as well as to work independently
  • Strong verbal communication skills
