Program Quality Engineer
About the role
The Standard Missile 3 Missile On-site Program Quality Engineer (PQE) in the Naval Power (NP) Strategic Business Unit supports Quality initiatives at our Tucson, AZ location. This role drives a robust quality culture, practices, and collaboration efforts, ensuring the program meets all Quality & Mission Assurance requirements.
Responsibilities
- Drive proactive quality strategies shaping Raytheon's ability to become the provider of choice.
- Engage on both strategic and tactical levels, focusing on quality, cost, and schedule performance.
- Generate new CORE (Customer Oriented Result and Excellence), CoPQ (Cost of Poor Quality) projects to reduce costs and increase efficiency.
- Monitor and lead root cause corrective action (RCCA) and FRACAS activities for systemic issues.
- Implement Advanced Product Quality Planning in accordance with AS9145.
Requirements
- Typically requires a bachelor’s degree and a minimum of five (5) years of prior relevant experience.
- Working experience with ISO 9001 and/or AS9100 Quality Management Systems.
- Working experience leading teams in failure analysis, root cause analysis, corrective and preventative action.
- Working experience in providing technical program support for manufacturing and/or design processes.
Qualifications
- Six Sigma, Lean, and / or American Society for Quality (ASQ) certifications.
- Experienced team player who achieves goals and strives for continuous improvement.
- Experience reviewing Statement of Work (SOW), Corrective Action Requests (CAR).
- Experience interfacing directly with customers.
- Experience presenting, reviewing, and/or approving changes through a formal Change Control Board (CCB).
- Experience exercising judgement and applying resolution-making skills with appropriate supervisory intervention.
- Experience in risk mitigation and opportunity management.
- Experience translating system requirements and contractual requirements to ensure full compliance is flowed down through product, assembly, and test documentation.
- Experience applying people skills and working with customers, suppliers, and in a team environment.
- Experience in First Article Inspections per AS9102.
- Experience with performance to cost, schedule, and technical performance including Cost Accounting Methodologies (Earned Value).

Pay
The salary range for this role is $86,800 - $165,200 annually.
