About the role

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Program Operations Support Specialist to provide comprehensive administrative and operational support to a dynamic program management team. This role is responsible for facilitating smooth program execution through effective coordination, tracking, and reporting of key operational activities. The ideal candidate will bring mid-level experience in program support within a federal, defense, or government contracting environment.

Responsibilities

  • Assist program leadership with operational planning, execution, and reporting activities.
  • Maintain and update program documentation, schedules, and deliverables.
  • Track action items, risks, and milestones using program management tools and templates.
  • Coordinate logistics for meetings, briefings, and stakeholder engagements.
  • Support data collection, analysis, and preparation of routine reports and presentations.
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies and contractual obligations.
  • Interface with cross-functional teams including finance, logistics, HR, and procurement.
  • Respond to taskers and data calls in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Provide administrative support such as correspondence drafting, file management, and travel coordination.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Project Management, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Must have worked as an Action Officer (AO) at the Defense Health Agency (DHA) or one of the military medical headquarters.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with project tracking tools.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and time management skills.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Prior experience supporting government or defense programs preferred.
  • Must pass pre-employment qualifications of Cherokee Federal.
  • Must possess or have the ability to obtain a U.S. Public Trust clearance.

Pay

Estimated starting salary range: $60,000 - $65,000. Pay commensurate with experience.
