About the role
This position is located at the Community Justice Support Center, 492 Pleasant Street, Northampton, MA 01060.
Responsibilities
- Care and custody of clients (probationers, parolees, inmates) assigned to the Community Justice Support Center.
- Ensure the security of clients and all individuals and personnel in the center at all times.
- Oversee participant schedules and monitor drug/alcohol sobriety through urinalysis and breathalyzer testing as needed.
- Report compliance/non-compliance of drug screens and client behavior feedback.
- Complete all necessary paperwork, reports, and documentation.
- Participate in all scheduled security meetings and other required meetings at the Center.
- Perform any other task or duty as assigned by Supervisor or Program Manager.
Requirements
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university; or high school diploma and minimum of four (4) years of experience in social service, security, or related field.
- Demonstrated ability to exercise courtesy, respect, and professionalism in interpersonal communication with the public and clients.
- Understanding of de-escalation techniques (preferred).
- High degree of confidentiality for access to client records.
- Ability to communicate in a direct, clear, and professional manner.
- Must successfully pass background and physical/drug screenings, including the ability to lift or carry an inmate, client, or colleague in time of need or crisis.
- Valid Massachusetts Driver’s License.
- Flexibility with shift hours, including day and afternoon/night shifts.
Schedule
- Full-time, 37.5 hours per week.
- Monday through Friday, with one weekend day per month.
- Hours on certain days will be either 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM or 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM, depending on testing schedule.
Pay
$54,483.77
