About the role

Responsible AI is a program managed by Shipt, a retail tech company. The Program Manager will drive the execution of privacy, data protection, and responsible AI programs across the builder organization.

Responsibilities

  • Turn legal requirements and governance frameworks into repeatable processes, tools, and developer-friendly guidance.
  • Execute and scale AI program operations.
  • Lead AI risk assessments.
  • Build playbooks and templates that empower teams to work independently.
  • Support the intake and risk classification of AI-enabled features.
  • Track program metrics.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, Security, and Data stakeholders to embed AI governance into delivery sprints and release plans.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in privacy, data governance, risk, security, or compliance roles.
  • Practical experience with AI program delivery.
  • The ability to comfortably work cross-functionally with technical teams and translate legal requirements into actionable guidance.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Exposure to AI/ML/LLM technologies in a governance or operational context.
  • Familiarity with privacy and governance tooling (e.g., OneTrust, Transcend, etc.).
  • Experience with software development lifecycles and cloud/data platforms.
  • Certifications like CIPP/US, CIPM, AIGP or equivalent practical experience.
  • A technical background and experience working in technology companies.

Work Arrangement

Shipt considers candidates located near a Shipt office or workspace in Birmingham, San Francisco, or Minneapolis to be hybrid, which means that they have the flexibility to work from home (with leader approval) or at a Shipt office in order to facilitate the ability to innovate, collaborate, and spark team connections. In-office expectations will vary by role and leader. Certain roles may require in-office presence on a full-time basis.
