Department Information
Location: Kennesaw campus (1000 Chastain Road NW, Kennesaw, GA 30144) and Marietta campus (1100 South Marietta Parkway, Marietta, GA 30060).
Responsibilities
- Develops, prepares, coordinates and implements assigned programs
- Manages and facilitates department communications including program marketing, website creation, mobile applications and social media
- Serves as liaison and communicates with academic divisions, colleges and departments
- May assist in developing, monitoring and managing budget processes
- Manages event planning, marketing and logistics
- Interprets, evaluates, develops and implements policies and procedures
- Creates, administers, and analyzes assessment programs
- Facilitates program components, post-program evaluation and operational reporting
- Assists with developing new programming
- Prepares operational reports and analysis to inform center-level reporting and decision-making
- May supervise assigned staff and/or student assistants
Department-Specific Tasks and Responsibilities
- Plans and runs programs, events, and services that engage and support parents and families on both the Kennesaw and Marietta campuses, with special attention to building strong ties with families connected to the Marietta campus
- Manages the Owl Family Hub to enhance communication with parents, families, and student supporters by sharing personalized newsletters, campus updates, student progress, and financial information
- Gives presentations to promote Parent & Family programs and initiatives
- Handles daily administrative tasks, including processing purchase requests and reimbursements, as needed
- Manages the department's Pcard, cash, and credit card in accordance with university policies
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution of higher education in related field
- Three (3) years of related work experience
Preferred Qualifications
- An advanced degree from an accredited institution of higher education in a related field
- Previous experience managing large-scale programs and events

- Proven ability to contribute to the development and execution of short- and long-term departmental goals
- Ability to independently identify problems and implement effective solutions
- Previous experience developing engaging web and social media content
- Proficient in graphic design tools such as Adobe Express, Adobe Creative Suite, and Canva to create engaging and visually appealing materials
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
- Demonstrated ability to think strategically and actively contribute to the creation and implementation of short and long-range department goals; the ability to manage multiple tasks and effectively prioritize among competing needs
- Ability to creatively problem solve and independently initiate and develop action plan for addressing identified issues
- Ability to establish and maintain effective, collaborative working relationships with key campus stakeholders
- Able to handle multiple tasks or projects at one time meeting assigned deadlines
- Excellent project management skills
- Excellent interpersonal, initiative, teamwork, problem solving, independent judgment, organization, communication (verbal and written), time management, project management and presentation skills
- Proficient with computer applications and programs associated with the position (i.e. Microsoft Office suite)
- Strong attention to detail and follow up skills
- Strong customer service skills and phone and e-mail etiquette
Pay
The budgeted salary is $58,000 per year. Offers are based on relevant experience.
