Summary
Develops and leads nursing maternal/perinatal initiatives for the CHRISTUS location. Works in conjunction with the Maternal Medical Director to oversee perinatal practice in the facility and regional clinical leaders to lead the development and implementation of clinical strategies, policies, and practices.Responsibilities
- Maintains compliance with benchmarks and standards for core functions and the facility's Maternal Program Plan.
- Formulates plans to address non-compliance and ensures corrective actions are taken.
- Acts as a subject matter expert or identifies experts to develop and implement evidence-based policies/procedures/standards of care.
- Makes decisions and manages deviations from strategic plans.
- Manages resource forecasting and develops strategies to fill resource gaps.
- Provides leadership and training to ensure team members are focused, committed, and capable of achieving results.
- Assists in establishing and implementing System policies, procedures, and standards.
- Communicates effectively to staff to facilitate understanding and accomplishment of goals and objectives.
- Establishes and monitors department quality objectives, milestones, and benchmarks.
- Develops and implements tools to measure performance and document project status.
- Promotes exceptional maternal care through established departmental programs.
- Participates in ongoing staff and team-based education/simulations and training in perinatal patient care.
- Regularly participates in maternal care at the facility.
Job Requirements
- Education/Skills: Bachelor of Science in Nursing required. Presentation and communication skills required.
- Experience: 5+ years of clinical experience in perinatal nursing required. Experience leading unit/facility initiatives preferred.
- Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications: Registered Nurse in the state of employment or compact required. Certification in Neonatal Resuscitation Program required. Certification in AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring required.
- Work Schedule: Full Time, 8AM - 5PM Monday-Friday.
