Program Manager/Life Skills Coordinator (Part-Time), Social Work Department, College for Health, Community and Policy

Core Responsibilities

  • Develops and coordinates life skills workshops and training to support young adults in enhancing skills to maintain stable housing and pursue postsecondary education.
  • Provides job readiness coaching and coordination with workforce development agencies, employers, apprenticeship programs and educational institutions.
  • Supports participants in understanding lease/rent obligations, utility management and housing related financial responsibilities.
  • Counsels participants on domestic violence issues, developing and implementing holistic safety plans in collaboration with youth experiencing domestic violence from a trauma-informed perspective.
  • Completes data entry into the local Homeless Management Information System (HMIS) for HUD compliance.
  • Collaborates effectively with program partners and Youth Action Council to develop and sustain supportive services for program participants.
  • Implements and manages changes and interventions to ensure project goals are achieved.
  • Provides task supervision for social work field students and/or peer advocates.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Social Work or in a related field.
  • One (1) year of related work experience, including training, development and facilitation.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in social work (MSW) or related graduate coursework in progress.
  • Experience in a program supporting young adults with experiences of foster care and homelessness.
  • Experience developing and facilitating workshops, curricula and training for young adults focused on life skills, employment, financial literacy and/or independent living.
  • Experience with funded research projects.
  • Professional experience working with survivors of domestic violence.
  • Experience with landlord navigation and local Homeless Management Information System (HMIS).
  • Experience working in a state child welfare agency.
  • Bilingual, Spanish and English.
  • Related experience including training development and facilitation.

Job Type

Part Time (20 hours per week)

Salary Range

Up to $27,000/Annualized, commensurate with education, experience, and qualifications.

Physical Demands

Sedentary work; sitting most of the time. Exerts up to 10 lbs. of force occasionally.
