Program Manager L&D, AWS Health & Safety
About the role
At AWS Health and Safety, our Programs team sits at the intersection of strategy, execution, and people, driving the initiatives and standards that protect employees and partners across the globe. As a Program Manager, you will work across teams to collaborate, generate buy-in, develop and execute to a plan. You will drive the expansion and growth of our global safety training programs, scaling globally. You will play a crucial role in devising strategies, fostering partnerships, and executing initiatives to enhance the program's reach and impact. This entails serving as the main point of contact for stakeholders in coordinating and managing strategic, cross-functional, and business-critical programs and projects.
Key job responsibilities
- Accountable for the overall program strategy and planning for safety L&D, communicate program requirements, negotiate priorities, and define success metrics
- Apply project management best practices to drive plan execution, mitigate risks, and improve effectiveness to deliver results in a timely manner
- Continuously improve program components and mechanisms to drive results and provide program status communication, deliver clear and concise summaries to leadership teams and effectively answer questions
- Serve as the primary point of contact for coordinating and managing strategic, cross-functional, and business-critical training programs and projects
- Build partnerships with key stakeholders and organizations to promote training program adoption. Effectively communicate and manage multiple, competing priorities while coordinating work across teams
- Define, track, and monitor progress against success metrics and project plans. Analyze and report on overall project health using key performance indicators and success metrics, and accurately and clearly report on status against program objectives
A day in the life
The AWS Health and Safety (H&S) team is an expanding, dynamic team that is critical to enabling AWS's growth around the world, as well as ensuring compliance of AWS's global operations, including physical data centers, as well as other AWS facilities, customer-facing enterprises and products. The H&S team has responsibility for architecting and implementing AWS's global safety programs. This includes defining and implementing risk management and compliance systems and driving their continuous improvement; setting and refining global policies and procedures; overseeing the development of standards, tools, auditing and metrics, and employee training; ensuring effective engagement by H&S teams on global initiatives, including those that are part of Amazon's ambitious sustainability goals; providing specialist expertise; and engaging with all AWS business units to provide scalable and H&S compliance strategies that support current and future business objectives while ensuring employee safety and compliance with H&S regulations.
Basic qualifications
- 3+ years of program or project management experience
- 3+ years of defining and implementing process improvement initiatives using data and metrics experience
- Knowledge of Excel (Pivot Tables, VLookUps) at an advanced level and SQL
- Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements
- Experience working cross functionally with tech and non-tech teams
Preferred qualifications
- 3+ years of driving end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership experience
- 3+ years of driving process improvements experience
- Experience in stakeholder management, dealing with multiple stakeholders at varied levels of the organization
- Experience building processes, project management, and schedules
Pay
USA, VA, Herndon: $74,200.00 - $129,800.00 USD annually. USA, WA, Seattle: $82,700.00 - $129,800.00 USD annually. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
