Program Manager I
About the role
The Program Manager I is responsible for management of a specific program or group of programs in a specialty/functional area, including scheduling and budgeting activities. This role works in collaboration with leaders to implement the program's objectives in support of identified goals and the continuous improvement process. Responsibilities include monitoring the program's effectiveness, mobilizing stakeholders, and organizing interdepartmental activities to ensure ongoing effective program operation and implementation. The Program Manager identifies opportunities to enhance or expand the program and presents proposals to management, oversees the execution of initiatives, and communicates with all stakeholders, both internal and external. May oversee and lead teams in support of the program's objectives.
A program is defined as a specialized area with specific complex components and discrete tasks that distinguish it from the main body of the organization. It involves a defined plan to accomplish a particular objective, with elements and scope distinct from usual departmental responsibilities. The role includes interpretation of policies, procedures, and regulations, independent functioning, and public contact. Programs typically have a long-term focus, serving or impacting ongoing needs or goals.
Responsibilities
- Manage scheduling and budgeting activities for a specific program or group of programs.
- Collaborate with leaders to implement program objectives in support of identified goals and continuous improvement.
- Monitor program effectiveness and mobilize stakeholders in support of continuous improvement.
- Organize interdepartmental activities to ensure ongoing effective program operation and implementation.
- Identify opportunities to enhance or expand the program and present proposals to management.
- Oversee the execution of initiatives essential for program success, including communication with internal and external stakeholders.
- Lead teams in support of program objectives, as needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in business, health care, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Three years of experience in a lead role overseeing program/project management.
- Three years of experience working on quality and process improvement projects with cross-functional teams, including data collection, analysis, and reporting.
- Proven record of project completion, program planning, execution, and status reporting.
- Experience leading committees, activities, and staff.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in public health, health care, or social services.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification.
- Experience analyzing improvement data and working with internal clients to develop improvement strategies.
- Experience project managing large, complex organizational initiatives that cross all departments and roles.
Pay
Compensation range: $97,665.00 - $146,497.00 per year (based on full-time employment of 2,080 hours worked per calendar year). Offers are determined by multiple factors including equity, skills, experience, and expertise, and may vary within the range provided.
