Program Manager, Global Markets
About the role
The CHAI Global Markets Team (GMT) builds healthy marketplaces to ensure the sustainable supply of vital medical commodities, helping life‑science companies understand product needs, sustainable prices, and how to navigate regulatory and procurement environments in low‑ and middle‑income countries. GMT manages relationships with major pharmaceutical and diagnostics companies, negotiating access programs, licensing agreements, product development agreements, volume guarantees, and similar activities.
The SUPREME (Sustainable Equitable Care and Universal Resources for Eclampsia and Anaemia) programme, funded by Unitaid, works to reduce maternal and neonatal deaths in Ghana, Kenya, Malawi, Senegal, and Tanzania by improving access to quality‑assured, affordable tools for pre‑eclampsia/eclampsia and maternal anaemia. Within SUPREME, the SECURE project—led by CHAI—focuses on improving the availability of and access to priority maternal health products.

The role involves designing, maintaining, and updating CHAI’s global supply‑and‑demand product strategies, owning relationships (including leading negotiations) with diagnostic companies, and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to create markets for new, affordable, high‑quality diagnostic products in LMICs. The Manager will also coordinate CHAI’s work with other international and research organizations focused on the same priority areas. The position can be offered at either the Manager or Senior Manager level and is based in a CHAI program country, pending GMT and country team leadership approval.
