About the role

Behind that velocity is the Launch Operations team, which owns the process that governs the lifecycle of bringing every AWS capability to customers, from intake through customer availability. We turn AWS’s innovation velocity into a durable Marketing advantage: driving operational scale so service teams and stakeholders can focus on innovation, and improving signal‑to‑noise so the most important news reaches customers and enables field sales and partner teams to engage around the launches that matter most. We are looking for a Program Manager II to run the programs that make this possible. You will operate at the center of the launch process, coordinating across product managers, marketing, engineering, security, legal, and field teams to keep launches moving on time and at a high quality bar. This is a role for someone who is organized, resourceful, and energized by the challenge of managing high‑visibility, cross‑functional programs where the details matter and the scale is significant. You will not just track the process — you will improve it, identifying where the sequential handoffs and manual coordination slow launches down, and designing the workflows and tooling that compress that timeline and align launch velocity with engineering velocity.

Responsibilities

  • Own the end-to-end launch operations program — defining milestones, tracking deliverables, mitigating risks, and keeping launches on schedule across multiple concurrent workstreams and stakeholder teams.
  • Coordinate across product managers, marketing, engineering, security, legal, pricing, and field teams to align on priorities, remove blockers, and drive launches from intake to customer availability.
  • Identify process gaps in how launches move through the pipeline and implement improvements that raise quality, reduce cycle time, and compress the sequential handoff chains that dominate the launch timeline.
  • Partner with task-owner teams to bring automation directly into their review workflows, improving operational scale so the program can support 3,000+ launches per year.
  • Define and monitor program metrics to measure delivery performance and improve signal‑to‑noise, then use those insights to inform planning and elevate the most important launches to customers.
  • Apply generative AI tools to streamline processes, status reporting, and program analysis, and help embed these tools into the team’s day‑to‑day operating model.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of defining and implementing process improvement initiatives using data and metrics
  • 3+ years of program or project management experience
  • Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements
  • Experience working cross functionally with tech and non‑tech teams
  • Working proficiency with generative AI productivity tools (e.g., Amazon Quick) applied to documentation, reporting, or program analysis

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of driving end‑to‑end delivery and communicating results to senior leadership
  • 3+ years of driving process improvements experience
  • Experience in stakeholder management, dealing with multiple stakeholders at varied levels of the organization
  • Experience building processes, project management, and schedules

Skills

  • Process improvement using data and metrics
  • Program/project management
  • Cross‑functional collaboration with technical and non‑technical teams
