About the Role

This position will be responsible for several key areas of the Feeding Our Neighbors Department: providing assistance, support, and coordination to food programs managed and/or operated by CCCS FON; managing statistical reports and data collection for the department and food programs; and assisting with coordination of special events during the calendar year. This role plays an integral part in developing and establishing high-level administrative tasks and operational standards for various sites and programs within the department.

Responsibilities

  • Perform annual assessments of conduit food programs to evaluate efficiencies in program operations, contractual and sector compliance, funding allocations, data collection, client tracking, monthly reporting, nutritional standards, staffing, volunteers, and other supports as needed.
  • In consultation with FON management, develop recommendations, corrective actions, and/or remedies to ensure and maximize program operations.
  • Develop methods to track and follow up with program assessments during the year to ensure compliance and progress.
  • Work with each program to establish expectations for compliance with funding, inspections, data collection, safety standards, and food nutrition.
  • Develop, maintain, and report monthly compliance and progress reports of food programs, including recommendations for enhancements, corrective measures, and other considerations.
  • Collaborate with the Department Director to meet with new and/or potential food program sites to determine the level of assistance and support needed.
  • Develop and manage systematic methods for collecting program data and maintain monthly statistical reports on behalf of the FON department.
  • Work with the contract manager to continue implementing the PLENTIFUL APP at various food programs.
  • Develop and maintain a master database for registered clients, meals served, pounds of food distributed, and other relevant statistical data for FON.
  • Serve as the point person for the agency client database system and with the CC Data Manager.
  • Act as compliance manager to ensure program sites provide accurate information on deliverables and related statistics.
  • Analyze data and trends, coordinating support as needed based on data collection.
  • Assist with the development of a tracking system for all purchased equipment and service agreements by site to ensure proper maintenance and inventory of program equipment.
  • Provide reliable responses by phone and email to all requests regarding programs and/or department-related matters.
  • Attend all related training and acquire certifications as directed by the supervisor.
  • Represent the agency at community events and/or sector-related forums in NYC, NYS, foundations, and with local elected officials as needed.
  • Support all special projects and/or events during the year as required.
  • Assist in the preparation of the agency annual budget process and performance measure discussions related to FON programs.
  • Continuously expand knowledge and resources within the emergency food sector, issues related to hunger, and poverty.
  • Support the SNAP team with outreach events and data collection.
  • Provide support as needed to the FON Director.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, or at least five years’ experience in the food industry and/or customer service industry.
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) required.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and knowledge of social service delivery systems and county resources.
  • Strong organizational, time management, and communication skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office and database entry.
  • Ability to work well independently as well as part of a team.
  • Willingness to travel throughout the designated county and participate in trainings as needed in Albany and elsewhere.
  • Travel at least 50% of the time using public transportation or a vehicle; traverse streets; occasionally ascend/descend stairs; and be exposed to outside weather conditions.
  • Ability to remain stationary at a workstation or during meetings/presentations and use a computer.
  • Carry a laptop to offsite work locations.
  • Operate standard office equipment (copier, fax, scanner, postage machine, printer).
  • Ability to use and respond to phone calls.
  • Must be able to lift or move containers weighing over 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work with the public.

Schedule

This is a full-time, exempt position. Days and hours of work are generally 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday. Additional evening and weekend hours are required for outreach and special events.
