Qualifications

  • Must be currently authorized to work full-time in the United States (U.S.).
  • Must present original documents proving citizenship or the legal right to work in the U.S.
  • All candidates must have proper work authorization when an employment offer is made.
  • Educational credentials must be from a U.S. Department of Education-recognized accredited institution.
  • Credentials from foreign institutions require independent equivalency verification from an approved evaluation service.

Responsibilities

  • Work with the Deputy Director of Advanced Capital Planning to support sponsor agencies in planning their capital needs and addressing citywide strategic goals for public buildings.
  • Assist in early capital strategic planning and provide supportive decision-making for sponsor agencies.
  • Coordinate and develop an understanding of each agency’s programming, long-term goals, and capital needs for their portfolio, and citywide initiatives for sustainability and resiliency.
  • Coordinate with program unit staff to advise them in the preparation of future funding requests.
  • Perform post-occupancy Evaluations (POEs) and surveys, soliciting feedback and lessons learned from end users of recently completed projects.
  • Analyze building operations, maintenance, energy and water use, user satisfaction, and other factors to inform future project needs.

Requirements

  • A valid New York State Registration as an Architect is required.
  • At least six (6) years of full-time paid experience in architectural work, with at least two (2) years as an administrative architect.

Preferred Skills

  • Thorough understanding of current architectural/engineering design principles and practices, NYC Building Codes, NYC Energy Code, and general building design, construction, project management, and project delivery methodologies.
  • Excellent management and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Prior experience in a managerial, administrative, or supervisory position.
  • AutoCAD required, BIM preferred, LEED AP preferred.
  • A valid motor vehicle driver’s license is required.

Benefits

The salary range for this position is $62,407.00 – $113,966.00.
