About the role
As a Localization Program Manager, you will partner with product and internationalization teams to empower products to feel local on a global scale. This role involves engaging with cross-functional teams to launch successful localized products and driving the adoption of optimal solutions to enhance the international user experience.
Responsibilities
- Engage and build relationships with cross-functional teams and stakeholders, including Product, Engineering, and Marketing, to launch successful localized products.
- Design and implement efficient and scalable end-to-end localization frameworks for various products and content types.
- Guide stakeholders to ensure localization best practices are followed and drive efficient execution.
- Proactively identify and streamline technical and process issues that affect localized product relevancy, quality, and functionality.
- Actively seek opportunities to optimize the international user experience and influence the adoption of optimal solutions.
- Partner across the internationalization team to ensure the right resources are in place and all deliveries are completed at the expected standards.
- Review assigned project progress against timelines to identify risks and blockers.
- Communicate with the main Localization Program Manager to coordinate priorities and plans.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in localization program or project management.
- Experience with product localization in complex and dynamic environments.
- Experience working closely with product partners such as Product Management and Engineering.
- Experience communicating across and driving results among a variety of cross-functional stakeholders, working across time zones and international offices.
- Experience identifying and driving forward work in an ambiguous environment.
- Experience analyzing and interpreting complex data sets to inform business decisions.
- Skilled in building and optimizing complex workflows.
- Track record of staying focused, prioritizing, and creating structure across large, ambiguous programs and setting goals for long-term initiatives.
- BA/BS or equivalent work experience in localization or internationalization project or program management.
- Familiarity with localization standards and best practices.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of additional languages other than English.
- Exposure to SQL, analytics tools, or a coding language.
- Thorough understanding of translation technologies like translation memories, machine translation, and CAT tools.
- Familiarity with internationalization standards such as Unicode and CLDR.
- Experience working with localization vendors.
- Knowledge of AI technologies and potential application in localization workflows.
