Program Engineer

About the Role

As a Program Engineer at RTX, the world’s largest aerospace and defense company, you’ll provide engineering support to the Program(s), leveraging your knowledge of operations and network of contacts to facilitate alignment between program needs and resources. This multi-faceted role bridges the Program Office and Manufacturing Engineers, ensuring seamless communication around technical and manufacturing data packages, CDRL requirements, and program objectives.

Responsibilities

• Communicate between Program and Manufacturing Engineers regarding changes to Technical and Manufacturing Data Packages.
• Assist the Program Operations Manager in conveying CDRL requirements, program tasks, and objectives to operations Manufacturing Engineers.
• Provide input to the Program Office on operations capabilities and constraints.
• Contribute engineering review input to EACs, ERBs, CCB, and other program reviews.
• Participate in design discussions to drive manufacturability and producibility.
• Engage with factory Manufacturing Engineers and technical experts to resolve technical issues.
• Coordinate program technical activities with factory support Manufacturing Engineers.
• Attend factory Tier 2 meetings for each factory interfacing with the program.
• Lead continuous improvement project management with the RRMIF ME/PTE team.
• Assist in developing Risks & Opportunities and drive them to Integrated Product Teams (IPTs).
• Initiate and maintain Manufacturing Data Packages (MDP) and communicate CDRL requirements.
• Review EAC schedules for adequate margin on tasks affecting operations readiness.
• Provide look-ahead to factory Manufacturing Engineers for engineering changes and effectivity cut-in.
• Participate in All Hands Reviews (Mission Area, Factories, Functional).
• Develop and maintain APQP elements (e.g., PFMEA).
• Identify and maintain Critical Manufacturing Processes.
• Provide surge support to RRMIF Factory (e.g., supplier rework, weekend overtime).

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) with a minimum of 8 years’ prior relevant experience.
• Experience troubleshooting hardware in a factory environment.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives Access (ATF) clearance.

• Experience with interpretation of technical documentation.
• Leadership experience on teams or projects.
• Knowledge and ability to apply CORE principles and techniques.
• Technical drawing interpretation, including Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
• Hands-on mechanical aptitude with cross-disciplinary teamwork experience.
• Innovative mindset driving continuous improvement and lean manufacturing.
• Experience with automated tooling, machinery, and programming.

Pay

The salary range for this role is $107,500 – $204,500 USD. The range reflects all experience levels, and RTX considers factors such as role, function, responsibilities, work experience, location, education/training, and key skills when extending an offer.
