Responsibilities
- Coordinate, implement, and promote Yachad programming throughout Los Angeles (up to 3 evenings/week until 7:30 pm, occasional Sundays & up to 3-4 Shabbatonim/year).
- Maintain standards of excellence and inclusivity across all programs and events.
- Develop innovative social, recreational, educational, and leadership opportunities for children, teens, and adults with disabilities.
- Cookordinate and oversee the planning and executing of regional Shabbatonim, Shabbat meals, holiday events, and community-wide programs.
- Participant Engagement and Family Support
- Conduct outreach to new participants and families within the Los Angeles community.
- Manage intake and registration for new participants and programs.
- Serve as a primary liaison to participants, parents, caregivers, schools, and group homes.
- Aid in building relationships with local schools, synagogues, and community organizations to promote inclusion and expand Yachad's presence throughout Los Angeles.
- Coordinate and oversee high school and college engagement initiatives such as campus lunch clubs, student leadership boards, and volunteer opportunities.
- Recruit, train, and supervise teen volunteers, advisors, interns, and program staff.
- Serve as a mentor for student leaders and volunteers participating in Yachad programming.
- Administration and Operations
- Maintain accurate participant records in Yachad's database system.
- Oversee program registration, track attendance, and collect program fees/payments.
- Assist with budgeting, expense tracking, and financial reporting for programs and events.
- Aid in Yachad’s annual Giving Day campaign (crowdfunding).
- Support communication and promotion efforts, including social media content creation.
- Participate in regional and national Yachad initiatives and special projects/travel to regional or national trainings, conferences, and Shabbatonim as needed.
- Aid in event setup/breakdown (including occasional lifting/transportation of supplies).
- Commitment to Yachad's mission for inclusion and supporting individuals with disabilities.
- Experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities preferred.
- Experience in program development and event planning.
- Knowledge of the LA Jewish community and Jewish values/traditions preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills/strong organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work independently.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, CRM systems, and social media platforms.
- Experience supervising staff, interns, or volunteers preferred.
