Program Director- Residential
About the role
Program Directors (PD) provide management and support to a caseload of community-based residential homes, providing care and support to adults with developmental disabilities. Due to the nature of the program – residential – hours may be flexible and are based upon the needs of the program and needs of the people and employees supported.
Responsibilities
- Directly supervises Family Living Director, Senior Family Living Director, Family Resource Specialist, Community Living Specialist, and Resource Support Specialist assigned to the caseload.
- Indirectly supervises all employees assigned to the specified positions noted above.
- Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.
Qualifications

- Must be at least 21 years of age, have a nurturing and caring demeanor, and have a genuine interest in supporting the independence of those we serve.
- A bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university is highly preferred.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience working in the human services field, with experience providing direct care services and a minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience is required.
- The employee must have and maintain a valid Maryland driver’s license.
- The employee must have completed Bello Machre Orientation, Developmental Disabilities Orientation, First Aid, CPR, MANDT, Choking Prevention & Dysphasia Diets, Skills Training, Combatting Constipation, Certified Medication Technician Training, Supervisory Training, and Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) in the State of Maryland.

- Ability to manage a caseload of residential homes.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to handle medical emergencies effectively.
- Knowledge of developmental disabilities and best practices in care and support.
- Ability to maintain accurate records and documentation.
- Proficiency in using Bello Machre’s automated time and attendance system.
