About the role

Oversees and manages the organization, administration, periodic review, planning, development and general effectiveness of the Nursing Education program. Works collaboratively with Program Directors, Administrative Coordinator, Compliance Administrator, Program Assistants, College wide peers and additional office staff in all aspects of programmatic duties.

Responsibilities

  • Interviews, recommends and processes Adjunct faculty for hire
  • Creates and manages the academic and clinical schedule for the Nursing program
  • Prepares course schedules and makes instructional assignments in collaboration with the Lab Director and Program Managers
  • Collaborates with faculty to manage full time and adjunct faculty workload, and to determine appropriate clinical affiliate sites each semester
  • Works collaboratively with team members to oversee, monitor, maintain and revise the division student database
  • Tracks, advises and admits applicants to the Nursing program
  • Works collaboratively with the lab director and clinical coordinators in oversight of clinical adjunct faculty
  • Prepares and presents the Nursing program review to College administration according to the review cycle
  • Prepares data and provides input related to program accreditation, Ohio Board of Nursing annual reports and site visit reports by ensuring standards are met
  • Maintains effective communication with prospective applicants, students, graduates, faculty and the community
  • Maintains communication with college and clinical affiliate liaisons to inform, manage and resolve programmatic concerns
  • Participates in division, College and professional meetings, activities/events
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in nursing
  • Minimum of five years of demonstrated experience as a registered nurse, two years of which have been as a faculty member in a Nursing program
  • Completion of an approved professional nursing education program
  • Current active licensure as a non-restricted registered nurse in Ohio
  • Demonstrated experience supervising, planning, assigning, scheduling and ensuring the quality of the work of others
  • Demonstrated experience effectively making decisions that have major implications on the management and operations within a department
  • Demonstrated effectiveness in a role requiring dynamic and abstract problem-solving methods in adaptive situations

  • Possess comprehensive knowledge of Nursing theories, concepts and practices with the ability to use in complex, difficult and/or unprecedented situations as it pertains to the departmental focus
  • Excellent organizational and prioritization skills with demonstrated attention to detail
  • Ability to be creative and exercise initiative
  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Works accurately with great attention to detail
  • Ability to adjust to changing priorities and respond appropriately to deadlines
  • Proven leadership skills and the ability to promote collaboration, foster a team environment and involve all stakeholders in decision-making processes
  • Demonstrated basic Project Management skills
  • Demonstrated Intermediate-level proficiency with Microsoft: Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Possess sensitivity to respond appropriately to the needs of the community
