Minimum Qualifications
- LPC, LCSW, LBP, or BSN with five years of related experience required and two years in a supervisory role preferred.
- Experience working with families and children in a behavioral health setting preferred.
- Willingness and ability to work irregular hours as needed to ensure quality standards are met in service delivery.
- Familiarity with CARF standards is preferred.
- Demonstrated supervisory, administrative, and consultative abilities as well as knowledge of trauma-informed care.
Responsibilities
- Oversee operations management of a 24/7, 15-bed children’s crisis stabilization unit.
- Develop and maintain the program, including purchasing equipment, interacting with vendors, and expediting results.
- Practice and promote the Sanctuary Model’s seven commitments: non-violence, emotional intelligence, social learning, open communication, social responsibility, democracy, and growth and change.
- Recruit, select, and provide leadership to 20+ clinical and support staff members.
- Communicate in an emotionally intelligent manner with employees, administration, community partners, referral sources, clients, and their families.
- Organize and supervise trauma-informed services for youth ages 10-17 (and their families) in crisis, including those with co-occurring disorders.
- Ensure a trauma-sensitive service environment that is recovery-focused and attentive to individuals who may have experienced trauma.
- Ensure timely, accurate, and complete charting requirements for all assigned staff.
- Ensure prompt and accurate collection of client information for billing purposes.
- Fill vacant positions with qualified staff in a timely manner.
- Provide clinical and job-specific support/supervision to all center staff to enhance effectiveness and efficiency.
- Complete written performance evaluations for all supervised staff within 15 days of the due date.
- Maintain up-to-date paperwork and submit required reports in a timely fashion.
- Attend Calm Center-related meetings, program director meetings, general staff meetings, and community meetings as needed.
- Prepare and submit accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and other necessary reports.
- Participate in public relations activities and community functions to link with the greater social service system.
- Monitor budget, unit cost reports, staff productivity, and documentation.
- Review charts for quality of care, progress notes, treatment plans, and ensure timely completion and sign-off.
- Ensure all staff are trained on Calm Center and CRS policies and procedures, with up-to-date training records.
- Write, revise, update, and submit Calm Center policies and procedures for approval.
- Facilitate regular staff team meetings, including teambuilding activities, using the Sanctuary Model.
- Develop and maintain a referral base for consumers needing higher levels of care or community resources.
- Expedite functional and efficient linkage procedures for referrals to and from service providers.
- Respond to crisis issues involving staff, building maintenance, clients, or their families in person or by telephone.
- Provide training, consultation, and education to outside groups and organizations about the program’s purpose and functions.
- Attend professional development workshops or training courses to maintain licensing/certification requirements.
- Ensure nurses, physicians, therapists, and the Assistant Director are trained on 15-minute checks and documentation.
- Oversee DVR operation and basic IT needs.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

- Extensive knowledge of the behavioral health field, trauma-informed care, crisis management, and evidence-based treatment models.
- Ability to share knowledge while fostering team relationships within the agency and community.

Schedule
Exempt. Full-Time, 40 hours per week. Evening and/or weekend work required as needed. On-call duties included.
Supervises
- Crisis Stabilization Staff, including Assistant Director, Nurses, Physician, Triage Therapists, Volunteers/Interns, and other program staff (life skill coaches, office specialist, safety officer).
This position is designated as “safety-sensitive.” Employees in this role can be disciplined for testing positive for marijuana or its metabolites, regardless of medical marijuana license status.
