About the Role

The Tunnel to Towers Foundation honors the sacrifice of firefighter Stephen Siller and first responders who continue to make the supreme sacrifice. The Foundation is committed to eradicating homelessness among veterans. As Program Director, you will oversee program staff serving veterans transitioning from unsheltered homelessness to permanent housing. You will coordinate client services, staff training, program policies, and reporting, while representing the Foundation to external organizations.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise program staff, including probationary and annual evaluations, monthly case reviews, and crisis management.
  • Facilitate staff communication through meetings to discuss program issues and concerns.
  • Monitor program census and coordinate client referrals.
  • Maintain regular communication with contract agencies regarding referred residents.
  • Attend required meetings and complete administrative paperwork for partner agencies.
  • Network with agencies, organizations, and individuals to share resources and advocate for homeless veterans.
  • Facilitate communication with the community on matters of mutual concern.
  • Execute agency policies and procedures for all site staff.
  • Participate in administrative team meetings and complete necessary follow-ups.
  • Coordinate with the Director, Veteran Facilities, and Property Manager on building and facility concerns.
  • Use Sanctuary Model tools (safety plans, community meetings, psycho-educational groups, team meetings, red flag reviews, and self-care) to foster a non-violent, trauma-sensitive culture.
  • Promote and model the core values of the Tunnel to Towers Foundation.
  • Attend regular supervision and perform additional tasks as assigned by the Director of Supportive Services.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in program supervision and administration.
  • LMSW in Social Work or a related field; MSW acceptable.
  • Strong leadership and management skills.
  • Excellent verbal, written, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Detail-oriented with strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to multitask, manage multiple projects, and supervise personnel.
  • Experience working with homeless veterans and knowledge of city/state/government policies.
  • Knowledge and experience with electronic health records (AWARDS or similar) preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office/Google Suite (or equivalent).
  • Pre-employment screening, including a background check, is required.

Special working conditions may include changes in days worked, shift hours, or working environments (e.g., outdoors or other locations) when participating in or assisting with special events.

This is an on-site position located in Bradenton, FL.
