Job Summary

General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. (GA-ASI) is a leading provider of remotely piloted aircraft and tactical reconnaissance radars. This role involves overseeing significant programs or developing engineering programs, often across multiple locations. The Program Director is responsible for ensuring quality, business, and financial objectives are met throughout the program lifecycle.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Direct all phases of the program(s) from conceptualization through completion, including acquisition, planning, and managing technical performance.
  • Develop and coordinate new program plans or delivery methods with little precedent, serving multiple customers.
  • Consult with executive management to set and achieve technical, schedule, quality, business, and financial objectives for the program(s).
  • Manage the establishment of design concepts, criteria, and engineering efforts for product research, development, testing, and integration.
  • Interact with senior management on significant matters affecting the company and serve as the primary contact for program issues.
  • Prepare proposals, business plans, and contract terms, influencing contract acquisitions, negotiations, and modifications.
  • Ensure technical leadership and excellence by directing and participating in the planning, attraction, selection, retention, and development of required talent.
  • Lead program review sessions with customers to discuss cost, schedule, and technical performance.
  • Identify and address program issues, providing leadership in developing solutions such as resource re-allocation or modified contract specifications.
  • Develop new business opportunities and expand existing ones, participating in business partnerships, alliances, and joint ventures.
  • Direct the development of and maintain the confidentiality of proprietary technology and sensitive information.

  • Demonstrates resilience and adaptability in managing change, resolving issues, and driving programs to successful completion.
