Program Director, Applied AI for Business

About the Role

The Applied AI for Business Program Director (PD), holding the academic title of Assistant Professor, is an academic leadership position responsible for academic program development and oversight. This role may include teaching a defined course load annually. The PD ensures assigned programs align with the University’s mission, are accessible, relevant, career-oriented, and deliver an engaging student experience that culminates in successful student performance outcomes. The PD remains current with market and higher education trends, using data and data analysis to identify and prioritize improvement opportunities for assigned programs.

Responsibilities

• Program Design and Delivery:
  • Oversees assigned program(s) and the creation and delivery of high-quality, engaging course content.
  • Leads the development, implementation, teaching, and oversight of educational programs to meet Bellevue University Course Master Design Standards.
  • Collaborates with the Dean, Admissions, Advising, Financial Aid, Career Services, and external stakeholders (e.g., advisory boards, corporate clients, accrediting agencies) to develop and update academic programs.
  • Maps courses to Program Student Learning Outcomes and desired skill outcomes.
  • Chairs an Academic Advisory Board and coordinates periodic meetings for program improvement and market alignment.
  • Conducts quarterly reviews of teaching performance, course and program performance, and program learning outcomes.
  • Recruits and selects subject matter experts to create high-performing, engaging courses adhering to design standards.
  • Collaborates with the Design and Development team to deliver innovative, high-performing, and engaging learning content.
  • Creates internships or experiential learning opportunities for students where feasible.
  • Develops and monitors the scheduling of program courses.
• Faculty Development:
  • Coaches, mentors, monitors performance, and evaluates assigned faculty to ensure academic integrity and student engagement.
  • Ensures faculty meet performance management expectations.
  • Communicates expectations for student engagement and faculty presence in course delivery.
  • Provides periodic and as-needed coaching/mentoring to instructors.
• Data-Driven Program Analysis:
  • Uses data fluency to acquire, compile, and analyze relevant data for insights and decision-making.
  • Analyzes assignment, course, program, and student experience data to improve outcomes.
  • Reviews program student inquiry, enrollment trends, course surveys, and marketing outcomes to adjust programs and courses.
  • Analyzes financial data to ensure program financial goals are met.
• Program Assessment:
  • Engages in the University’s formal Program Assessment process to continuously improve assigned programs.
  • Ensures programs are formally assessed according to procedures established by the Bellevue University Academic Assessment Committee.
• Program Marketing:
  • Collaborates with Enrollment Management, Marketing, and Corporate Learning to grow student enrollment.
  • Conducts program presentations and orientations for new student recruitment (live and recorded sessions).
  • Ensures program marketing materials (website, landing pages, printed material, social media) accurately reflect program design and outcomes.
  • Engages with B2B clients to market and present assigned programs.

Requirements

• Education: A terminal degree in Business, Management, or a closely related and relevant field is required.
• Experience:
  • Minimum 4 years of graduate-level teaching experience (online or face-to-face).
  • Ability to teach a wide variety of Business and Management courses from the Undergraduate to Doctoral level.
  • Industry experience relative to assigned academic programs is highly desired.
  • Familiarity with data and data analysis to identify and prioritize improvement opportunities.
  • Online course development or design experience is highly desired.
  • Familiarity with developing faculty and instructor guides is highly desired.
  • Familiarity with Generative Artificial Intelligence (AI) is highly desired.
• Other Requirements:
  • Ability to carry out management duties following University operating procedures.
  • Strong presentation and organizational skills.
  • Ability to establish and maintain constructive working relationships with faculty, staff, students, administrators, and external contacts.
  • Must be available to work onsite at Bellevue University Main Campus Monday through Friday.
• Computer Skills: Proficiency in general office and internet skills, Microsoft Office (Email, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
