About the Role

The Department of Nursing has instituted a new program offering with the PhD in Nursing Education. The grant-funded Program Coordinator will contribute through teaching, research, and guidance in nursing education, directly supporting the Principal Investigator (PI) and Department Chair. This role shares responsibility for committee and department assignments, including administrative tasks, data tracking, reporting, and other institutional functions.

Responsibilities

  • Lead recruitment and retention efforts for PhD students.
  • Engage in research and publications to support tenure and promotion.
  • Support curriculum development.
  • Participate in departmental and college-wide activities and committees, including grant writing, assessment, faculty development, mentoring student projects, and academic advisement.

Requirements

  • Master’s of Science Degree in Nursing (MSN) required; Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Nursing preferred.
  • Current or eligibility for an unencumbered nursing license in Maryland, Washington, DC, or a compact state.
  • Didactic teaching experience at the collegiate level (strongly preferred).
  • Demonstrated record of clinical expertise and experience with assessment and evaluation of student learning outcomes.
  • Expertise in nursing care across the lifespan.
  • Experience with nursing recruitment and retention.
  • Compliance with health requirements, CPR certification, and background check for clinical activities.
  • Availability for evening and weekend activities as part of the work schedule.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with total program evaluation and accreditation.
  • Active record of scholarship and service at the program, department, and university levels.

This position is contingent upon continued availability of grant funding and the project’s approved scope.

Pay

$68,000 – $72,000 per year.
