About the role
This position coordinates activities and functions of system-wide programs and initiatives that enhance organizational culture and foster a sense of belonging across the organization as prioritized in the Rush Plan to Reduce Gaps in Health Outcomes and Experiences ("The Rush Plan"). Ensure that program objectives are accomplished within time and budget expectations. Supports implementation of new programs and services, as well as daily activities and operations ensuring offerings are of the highest quality. This position works closely with the Program Manager, Belonging in the implementation of all Belonging efforts.
Exemplifies the Rush mission, vision and values and acts in accordance with Rush policies and procedures.
Responsibilities
- Develop and schedule program work plan within specifications and budget.
- Oversee daily operations and coordinate activities of assigned initiatives; recommend enhancements.
- Develop and maintain a System-wide calendar of Belonging activities
- Cook up and deliver presentations and reports (financial or operations) on program activities, progress, or outcomes to drive management decision-making
- Oversee daily operations and coordinate implementation of a celebration and awareness strategy to recognize holidays, special observances, key events, and the cultural heritage of all our patients, people, and learners.
- Support Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) to implement events, services, and/or programs as defined in their annual plans.
- Assists in developing and monitoring program budgets, metrics and evaluation mechanisms.
- Partners with Executive Assistant to manage related vendors including but not limited contracting, submitting purchase orders, and invoice processing.
- Create agendas for committees and work groups as required to support programs.
- Develops and maintains contacts with internal and external constituents relating to program needs.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent education and years of experience combination.
- 5 years of administrative experience including event planning

- Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite.
- Demonstrated experience in event planning
- Ability to collect, organize, interpret, and summarize information.

- Ability to set goals and manage multiple complicated tasks.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to work on tight deadlines.
- Willing to occasionally work some evenings and weekends
