Program Assistant - Truck Driving

Responsibilities
- Aid in daily operations by scheduling classes, coordinating with instructors, and managing student enrollment.
- Act as the primary point of contact for students regarding CDL program requirements, schedules, and resources.
- Maintain accurate records of student interest, progress, attendance, and program completion.
- Work with the program director to ensure compliance with annual changes in federal and state licensing laws.
- Assist the program director in validating physical and drug test results for students and entering information into the federal database and the Secretary of State CDL license testing system.
- Cultivate relations with the Illinois Secretary of State office.
- Collaborate with the college’s workforce development division and the program director to manage WIOA student enrollment.
- Participate in informational sessions for prospective students.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Two years of experience in an administrative or support role.
- Working knowledge of Illinois Secretary of State requirements and regulations for CDL Class A licensure.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and other relevant software.
- Ability to proofread and edit work and maintain accurate documentation and updated reference material in compliance with regulatory guidelines and requirements.
- Strong interpersonal skills to facilitate inquiries from internal and external stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Associate Degree preferred.
Skills
- Knowledge of the trucking industry and commercial driving regulations is a plus.

Pay
This is a Part-Time Support Staff position at grade 11, with an hourly pay rate of $17.37 to $23.16. The offer will be based on education and experience, in alignment with the College’s compensation philosophy and the current Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA), if applicable.
Schedule
Must be willing to work a flexible schedule to meet the needs of the department.
