Job Summary

Student research assistants will be working with the Cracks in the Pavement grant from the Mellon Foundation. Specifically, students will be assigned to a specific class being run by a Mellon-associated faculty member that contains a module on democracy within that specific discipline. Research assistants will attend the class to which they are assigned, participate in research meetings and workshops, and aid the faculty member and their class with their final project in the course. Training will begin in August 2026.

Responsibilities

  • Students Will Be Required To Attend the class to which they are assigned
  • Attend regular research assistant cohort meetings
  • Attend workshops on humanities/social science research methods and community engagement
  • Aide the assigned faculty member and class with their final project.

Required Qualifications

  • Must be an undergraduate student at the University of Michigan-Flint
  • Interested in humanistic and social science research.
