About the role
The Office of Child Support (OCS) establishes policies and guidelines for the child support program based on federal and state laws. Ohio's child support program provides services to help ensure that children receive the financial and medical support they are legally entitled to and deserve.
Responsibilities
- Helps ensure Ohio child support payments are collected, processed, and disbursed accurately.
- Vendor oversight
- Support for county child support agencies
- Maintain program documentation, assist with training, and coordinate projects
- Assess operations and develop or update procedures to improve performance
- Draft policy or process changes as needed
- Aid with system updates, testing, and process improvements
Requirements
- Completion of undergraduate core program in business administration, management science or public administration AND 2 yrs. trg. or 2 yrs. exp. in supervisory, administrative &/or managerial position.
- Or completion of undergraduate core program in academic field commensurate with program area to be assigned per approved Position Description on file AND 2 yrs. trg. or 2 yrs. exp. in supervisory, administrative &/or managerial position or staff position involving planning, research &/or policy/procedure development.
- Or 4 yrs. trg. or 4 yrs. exp. in business administration management science or public administration.
- Or 1 yr. exp. as Program Administrator 1, 63122.
Qualifications
- The equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications For Employment noted above.
Skills
- Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and attention to detail.
- Ability to work with multiple data sets and use Excel (sorting, filtering, reports).
- Clear written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organization, time management, and ability to handle multiple deadlines.
- Ability to explain policies simply and professionally, even in sensitive situations.
- Proficiency with computers, multiple systems, and virtual collaboration tools.

This position is in the State of Ohio’s E1 Pay Schedule, Pay Range 12. Unless required by legislation or union contract, starting salary will be the minimum salary of that pay range (step 1, currently $33.32 per hour).
Schedule
Full-time. Workdays are Monday through Friday. Hours are between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.

Travel
Occasional travel within the state of Ohio.
