About the role
The USC Department of Surgery is recruiting a Professor of Research (non-Tenure track).
Responsibilities
- Conduct advanced investigative-research in the fields of Epigenetics, Epigenomics, Bioinformatics, Cancer, Lung Biology and Molecular Biology.
- Develop and submit independent and/or collaborative grant proposals as a principal investigator.
- Collaborate with an existing team of investigators on the Health Sciences Campus of the University of Southern California.
- Support the goals of the team of investigators.
Requirements
- Ph.D., M.D., and/or equivalent degree in Molecular & Cell Biology with an emphasis in Cancer biology and Immunology.
- Advanced investigative-research skills.
- Prior research experience in the fields of Epigenetics, Epigenomics, Bioinformatics, Cancer, Lung Biology and Molecular Biology.
- Publication and/or funding records in these fields.
- A strong interest in teaching and basic science research.
Qualifications
- Experience in conducting research in Epigenetics, Epigenomics, Bioinformatics, Cancer, Lung Biology and Molecular Biology.
- Strong publication record in relevant fields.
- Ability to secure external funding.
- Interest in teaching and mentoring.
Skills
- Research skills in Epigenetics, Epigenomics, Bioinformatics, Cancer, Lung Biology and Molecular Biology.
- Grant writing and proposal development skills.
- Teaching and mentoring skills.
