Professor of Practice - Artificial Intelligence
About the role
The Department of Decision and Information Sciences in the C. T. Bauer College of Business seeks qualified applicants for a non-tenure track Professor of Practice position (start date in the Fall of 2026).
Responsibilities
- Teaching AI-related courses
- Contributing to curriculum development in emerging AI areas
- Engaging with industry partners
- Service to the department, college, and university
Qualifications
- Hold a terminal degree (PhD or equivalent) in Information Systems, Operations Management/Supply Chain Management, Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, or a closely related discipline.
- Significant industry experience applying AI technologies is strongly preferred.
About the Department and College
The DISC Department at Bauer College includes 20 tenured or tenure-track faculty in Operations Management and Information Systems. Faculty conduct cutting-edge research in areas including sustainability, healthcare, AI, digital platforms, and supply chain management. The department is highly active in research and is consistently ranked among the top 50 Business Schools in North America based on publications in leading operations management and information systems journals included in the UTD-24 list.
The C. T. Bauer College of Business is AACSB-accredited, with over 6,000 undergraduates and 900 graduate students across BBA, MBA, Executive MBA, specialized master’s, and PhD programs. The PhD program has seen a substantial uplift in quality in recent years.
