About the Role
Join Joyce University in transforming healthcare education through immersive simulation experiences. As a Professor of Nursing Simulation, you will play a critical role in bridging the gap between classroom learning and clinical practice, helping students develop clinical judgment, confidence, and compassion before entering patient care environments.
Responsibilities
- Facilitate simulation-based learning experiences using Healthcare Simulation Standards of Best Practice™.
- Conduct engaging prebriefing and debriefing sessions that promote reflection, critical thinking, and clinical judgment.
- Create supportive learning environments where students feel challenged, encouraged, and empowered to grow.
- Provide meaningful feedback to help students identify strengths and opportunities for development.
- Collaborate with course faculty, simulation operations specialists, and academic leaders to create seamless learning experiences.
- Support curriculum integration and scenario development aligned with program outcomes.
- Contribute to interprofessional education initiatives and innovative teaching strategies.
- Integrate advanced simulation technologies, including high-fidelity simulators, virtual reality platforms, and electronic health record systems.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives through assessment, feedback, and evidence-based practices.
- Participate in simulation center activities, accreditation efforts, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Stay current with emerging trends and best practices in simulation and nursing education.
Qualifications
Required
- Master's Degree in Nursing.
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Utah or ability to obtain prior to employment.
- Demonstrated commitment to student-centered teaching and learning.
- Strong communication, facilitation, and relationship-building skills.
Preferred
- CHSE certification or willingness to obtain within 36 months.
- Two or more years of simulation-based education experience.
- Experience facilitating simulation prebriefing and debriefing.
- Familiarity with Healthcare Simulation Standards of Best Practice™.
- Experience using high-fidelity simulation technology and electronic health record systems.
- OB and/or Pediatrics clinical experience.
- Experience in nursing education, faculty instruction, or experiential learning environments.
Schedule
Full-time position with a Monday–Friday schedule and occasional evenings or Saturdays. On-campus role located in Draper, Utah.
