About the role

The University of Wisconsin-Madison's Information School seeks highly qualified candidates for up to two tenured positions in information sciences. These faculty positions will be academic nine-month, tenure-track appointments at the Associate Professor level, to start August 2024. Applications at the Professor level may be considered in exceptional cases.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the academic mission of the Information School through teaching, research, and service.
  • Develop and maintain an active research program that aligns with the school’s interdisciplinary focus on information sciences.
  • Engage in professional development activities to enhance teaching and research skills.
  • Participate in departmental, college, and university committees and initiatives.

Requirements

  • A doctoral degree in information sciences or a related field.
  • Proven record of excellence in research and teaching.
  • Ability to contribute to the diversity and excellence of the academic community.
  • Strong commitment to undergraduate and graduate education.

Qualifications

  • Research expertise in areas such as data science, digital humanities, or other relevant fields.
  • Experience in interdisciplinary collaboration and teaching across multiple disciplines.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Skills

  • Effective communication and presentation skills.

  • Knowledge of pedagogical methods suitable for diverse student populations.

Pay

The salary range for these positions is $90,000 - $120,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience.
